Charlie Kirk said Thursday that Mississippi Auditor Shad White is “advancing his career by destroying” Brett Favre, a “great American patriot and man,” in a move similar to the way Alvin Bragg and Fani Willis have targeted former President Donald Trump.

We expect our government officials to act in the public interest. You'd think that Mississippi, being a deep red state and a great state full of patriots, wouldn't encounter this kind of nonsense. But this kind of targeting is not spared in Mississippi, even Mississippi's favorite and our next guest, Brett Favre. It could happen to anyone. It's a scary story.
“We hear a lot about Letitia James and Alvin Bragg targeting Donald Trump, but I also want to talk about what's been going on behind the scenes in Mississippi,” he added.
Kirk explained why Mississippi Auditor White is targeting Favre:
A few years ago, Shad White told Brett Favre that a well-known non-profit in Mississippi had used federal welfare funds he had received from the state to pay Brett for promotional work he had agreed to do for the non-profit. It was no big deal. Brett returned the full amount of the funds to the state of Mississippi, even though he had done nothing wrong (he didn't know where the funds came from and was only providing services for the non-profit). Brett returned the funds no questions asked and did not ask for a release of any claims because he had done nothing wrong. Shad White publicly praised Brett for his noble and generous acts. However, like Alvin Bragg and Fani Willis, White later turned his back on Brett for purely political reasons. The state, led by Shad White, filed suit over the money Brett had paid. [he] He was already back.
Kirk added, “Mr. White knew that suing Brett would attract widespread public attention, and that is exactly what he did. In fact, this lawsuit has made Brett unwelcome in many quarters and undermined his ability to earn a living in Mississippi.”
The Turning Point USA founder claimed White is “highly ambitious” and wants to become the next governor of the Magnolia State. Kirk added that White even wrote a book about his case against Favre.
“He has a personal interest in attacking Brett,” Kirk said.
Kirk asked, “Do you see a pattern here?”
“Public officials should not have the authority to unjustly attack private citizens. It's wrong for Letitia James to do so and it's wrong for Shad White to do so. We send a message to Shad White at Turning Point Action and everyone here,” he continued. “We've been watching you and we don't like what you're doing here. If this nonsense and garbage continues, we will make sure you're not elected Governor of Mississippi and we will make sure you have no future.”
A source close to Favre said Favre was surprised by Kirk's intervention because the two had only recently met and had not discussed Favre's case.
