Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey announced a lawsuit against New York state for “directly attacking our democratic process through its unconstitutional legal actions against President Trump.”
Bailey said Thursday on his podcast, “The Bailey Wire,” that his office intends to take steps to fight the wrongful prosecution against the former president.
Mr Bailey said it was time to restore the rule of law.
“New York radicals are trying to rig the 2024 election, and we must stand up and fight back,” he told Fox News Digital exclusively.

Bailey said the state’s actions against Trump are interfering with Missourians’ right to a free and fair election.
“We must fight back against the corrupt prosecutors who are trying to remove our presidential candidate from the campaign trail,” Bailey wrote on X.
Bailey’s office noted that because the case is a state vs. state lawsuit, it will likely go directly to the U.S. Supreme Court. The office said the lawsuit will be titled “Missouri v. New York.”
Last month, Bailey asked the Justice Department for a documents review of communications with prosecutors related to the indictment. Former President Trump.

“The investigation and subsequent prosecution of former President Donald J. Trump appears to have been conducted in coordination with the United States Department of Justice,” Bailey argued, adding that he believes that assertion is partially substantiated by the Justice Department’s actions. The third-highest ranking official in the Department of JusticeThe Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has deployed attorney Matthew Colangelo to assist with the prosecution of the criminal case, New York v. Trump.
Additionally, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg worked with New York Attorney General Letitia James on a civil lawsuit against Trump, and used that experience as a springboard to campaign in support of his current positions, Bailey noted.

“During that campaign, Bragg said, ‘If I win, [he] “He declared, ‘I’m going to go after Trump,’ and if he wins the election, he vowed to ‘personally focus on the high-profile investigation into former President Donald Trump’s business practices,'” Bailey said.
Bailey argues that the decision to prosecute Bragg “despite its obvious weaknesses had the effect of distancing former President Trump from the campaign, a position that President Biden has boasted about.”

“Given the timing (Bragg filed his complaint against Trump after Trump announced his candidacy for president), the apparent weakness of the complaint, and its effect on removing Trump from the campaign trail, there is every reason to suspect that the Biden administration was coordinating with Bragg and others to prosecute Trump,” Bailey argued.
