Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey said the 15-year-old suspect who was caught on video slamming a teenager’s head into concrete should be tried as an adult.
He added that if the victim dies, the suspect should be tried for murder.
Video of the violent assault that occurred near Hazelwood East High School in Spanish Lake on Friday has been released. viral online and provoked outrage at its brutality and viciousness.
The victim suffered serious injuries and was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The suspect was arrested Saturday and is being held in St. Louis County Family Court on assault charges.
“This evil and complete disregard for human life has no place in Missouri or anywhere. I pray for the victims,” Bailey wrote. statement on social media.
“Criminals should be prosecuted and tried as adults,” he added. “If the victim dies, the charge should be upgraded to murder.”

Hazelwood East High School previously released a statement regarding the viral video.
“It is a tragedy that children are hurt,” the statement said. “Bullying and conflict in our communities is an issue that we all need to take ownership of and work toward solutions for the sake of our children.The Hazelwood School District extends its deepest condolences to everyone involved.
