Missouri Attorney General Takes Legal Action Against Planned Parenthood for Saying Abortion Drug Is ‘Safer Than Tylenol’

Missouri Attorney General Takes Legal Action Against Planned Parenthood for Saying Abortion Drug Is 'Safer Than Tylenol'

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has initiated a lawsuit worth millions against Planned Parenthood, describing it as a “death factory” that misleads women with “falsehoods” and “deceptive advertisements” regarding the risks associated with abortion medications.

In connection with a provision from the “big and beautiful bill,” which prevents Medicaid funds from being allocated to Planned Parenthood, his office has brought forth legal action alleging that the organization “systematically misrepresents the hazards of chemical abortions to cut costs while prioritizing revenue even at the expense of women’s health and safety.”

Bailey’s office contends that Planned Parenthood has made “dangerous claims,” even stating that the abortion drug mifepristone is “safer than many widely-used medications like penicillin, Tylenol, and Viagra.”

According to his office, Planned Parenthood has engaged in misleading practices, urging women to conceal their use of abortion drugs from emergency care providers, which, they argue, significantly heightens the risk of complications.

The Attorney General himself has criticized the organization for “jeopardizing the lives of women and girls throughout the country by disseminating misinformation about potent chemical abortion drugs.”

“The evidence is evident. Over 4.5% of women taking this perilous drug end up requiring emergency medical attention, yet Planned Parenthood compares it to Tylenol,” Bailey stated. “This is a clear violation of Missouri law, and I will not permit the organization to mislead Missouri women while pushing its radical agenda.”

Several proponents of the pro-life movement have applauded the lawsuit, including Lila Rose, the president and founder of Live Action.

She remarked that “Planned Parenthood not only deceives women but also endangers their lives for profit. This lawsuit confirms what we’ve known for a long time.” Rose also praised Bailey for his “courageous actions” while emphasizing the lives lost at the hands of abortion providers.

“Planned Parenthood promotes these dangerous abortion medications knowingly harming women. They have sent thousands to emergency rooms, insisting these pills are safer than Tylenol, despite numerous reports of trauma and distress experienced by women. The most tragic aspect of these abortion pills is the fact that they are meant to terminate developing children in the womb.”

“This is violence, not medicine. I commend Attorney General Bailey for taking decisive steps to hold this corrupt and deadly organization accountable. Every woman deserves honesty, and every child deserves protection. A business profiting from death and deception should face repercussions. It’s time to permanently defund Planned Parenthood, prohibit abortion pills, and safeguard the lives of women and children across America.”

Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, noted that Bailey “sets an example for the rest of the nation by confronting the abortion lobby and advocating for the truth and safety of women in Missouri.”

“Women need to be aware of the genuine dangers posed by abortion drugs,” she added. “Planned Parenthood has been misleading women for years while reaping benefits from it. This situation reflects medical negligence under the guise of care. Women find themselves in emergency rooms, with some even losing their lives.”

“It’s evident that Planned Parenthood prioritizes profits over health and safety, and their misleading marketing of abortion medications to vulnerable women is just one instance,” remarked David Bereit, executive director of the Life Leadership Conference.

“Fortunately, Attorney General Bailey is addressing this deception and filing this new lawsuit to protect women from Planned Parenthood facilities nationwide,” Bereit concluded.
