Missouri collapses against Georgia in SEC Tournament bad beat

If you are betting on a college basketball team that is 8-23, you would expect some difficult developments to occur during the game.

But in the SEC Tournament on Wednesday night, the lowly Missouri Tigers frustratingly blew a seven-point lead against Georgia with 3:30 remaining and couldn’t cover, ultimately losing 64-59.

The 14th-seeded Tigers scored just six points in the final 6:25 and scored their final point with 3:40 remaining, enthusing bettors who favored them as 2.5-point underdogs.

The 11th-seeded Bulldogs finished the game with a 12-0 victory to seal the victory and will face No. 6 seed Florida in the second round Thursday night.

In fact, Missouri State showed determination to fight back from an early 21-9 deficit to take a seven-point lead late, but the Tigers missed their final seven shots and turned the ball over once.

The Tigers (8-24) went 0-18 in the SEC and ended the season with a 19-game losing streak.

Missouri State has been so bad this season that they received about 0.0 percent of BetMGM’s handle to win the SEC Tournament after opening at 100/1.

Even longshot odds couldn’t convince bettors to bet on the Tigers.

Meanwhile, the second-seeded Kentucky Wildcats have a whopping 66.2% of the handles to win the SEC Tournament, with odds of +350.

They are the team most bet on to win the conference in the entire sports betting world, and post-action bettor Dylan Svoboda is still a favorite bet at the current price.

The top-seeded Tennessee Volunteers are presumed to be the favorites with odds of +160, but the Wildcats defeated them on the road in the final regular season game.

Georgia State, which improved to 17-15 with the win, lost Thursday’s game against FanDuel and the Gators by 7.5 points.

The winner will play third-seeded Alabama in Friday’s quarterfinals.
