Now this is how you do a college football game!
The University of Missouri football program has come up with an absolutely genius idea to get fans hyped up for their contest taking on Auburn — cheap beer.
Mizzou has a record of 5-1 at this point in the season, with their only defeat coming in blowout fashion against Texas A&M. And while a 5-1 start isn’t bad, obviously, their performance hasn’t met the national championship contender expectations that were put on them back in the preseason. The team itself has been ignoring the lack of hype that now surrounds them, and aren’t letting the blowout to the SEC rival Aggies get them down either. Hell, they aren’t allowing this Saturday’s early 11:00 AM kickoff time against Auburn to get in the way as well, and they aren’t allowing it to depress their fans in the process.
The Tigers have a grade-A plan to make sure they fill the seats for the game, announcing that beer will be on sale for $2.99. The sale begins at 9:30 a.m. and ends 20 minutes prior to the contest kicking off.
$2.99 for a beer at a college football game is absolutely unheard of, definitely (and literally) a deal of a lifetime. Like, seriously, when is the next time that we’ll see a beer this cheap at a big-time college football game like Missouri and Auburn?
Say what you want, but it’s still an SEC showdown — and now an SEC showdown with cheap beer, yes!
