Mitchell Robinson promises ‘revenge’ after Knicks injury news

Mitchell Robinson is bent on revenge.

After the Knicks announced Tuesday that the big man was season-ending with a left ankle strain injury, Robinson took out his frustrations on X and promised “revenge.”

Robinson played a big role defending 76ers star Joel Embiid in the first round of the series.

However, during a 125-114 loss to Philadelphia in Game 3, he was injured after being in the wrong position on a questionable play by Embiid.

“This is so messed up I don’t even know what to say,” Robinson posted Tuesday night, before adding in another post: “This is not over!” I seek revenge. ”

Robinson’s anger may be directed at Embiid’s flagrant foul in the first quarter of Game 3.

Embiid fell to the floor and Robinson was standing over him, aiming for the basket, when Embiid grabbed Robinson’s leg and sent him tumbling to the floor.

Robinson tried to play through a sprained ankle, but was ultimately forced to miss the remainder of the game.

After officials reviewed the play, Embiid was given a toxic 1.

Robinson left the Wells Fargo Center in a walking boot and missed Game 4 of that series, but played in subsequent games, including the Knicks’ Game 1 win over the Pacers.

He played just 12 minutes in Game 1, recording two points and two rebounds.

The Knicks said Robinson will be re-examined in six to eight weeks, and a source told The Post’s Stephen Bondy that he will not need another surgery.

Robinson started the first 21 games of the 2023-24 season at center before requiring ankle surgery and missing 49 games.

The Knicks have suffered a number of serious injuries this season, including All-Stars Julius Randle and Bojan Bogdanovic.
