Mastercard Extends Partnership with Major League Baseball
For nearly three decades, Mastercard and Major League Baseball (MLB) have embraced the idea that baseball transcends mere sport. It captures the spirit of summer nights, the thrill of the first game, and fosters memories that echo through generations.
This tradition continues as Mastercard and MLB have announced a multi-year extension of their partnership, emphasizing their dedication to fans who create memorable experiences and ensuring that significant moments are cherished and celebrated.
A Legacy of Memories
Centering on the concept of being priceless, which has been a branding cornerstone since its introduction in 1997, Mastercard aims to enhance fan experiences at the ballpark and beyond. This new phase of their partnership seeks to provide more opportunities for fans to enjoy the game they cherish, whether they’re in the stadium, at home, or elsewhere.
“Baseball serves as one of the strongest cultural platforms, weaving shared experiences across generations,” remarked Rustom Dastor, Executive Vice President of Marketing & Communications for Mastercard Americas. “MLB has been the backdrop for many of our successful initiatives and values, and with this renewal, we’re aiming to innovate engagement and offer fans even more meaningful experiences.”
During Game 2 of the 2025 World Series, hosted by Capital One, Mastercard’s collaboration with MLB and Stand Up To Cancer will come to life. Fans can look forward to an engaging performance by the Jonas Brothers, who will deliver the campaign anthem “I Can’t Lose.” Since 2010, Mastercard has effectively enabled U.S. consumers to turn everyday purchases into significant contributions, having raised over $80 million for Stand Up To Cancer. This year, the effort continues with fans making a difference simply by using their cards at participating restaurants or online.
“It’s an honor to join this impactful campaign and celebrate our collaboration with Mastercard for Stand Up To Cancer during such a pivotal moment in the World Series,” said a member of the Jonas Brothers. “As someone who has loved baseball for as long as I can remember, being part of this convergence of music and purpose is particularly meaningful.”
Putting Fans First
With the extension, Mastercard will remain the presenting sponsor of the MLB All-Star Game while expanding fan-focused experiences throughout the sport. Upcoming exclusive benefits for cardholders in 2025 and 2026 may include various perks.
Enhancing Every Moment
Beginning in 2026, Mastercard and MLB plan to roll out new loyalty programs and engagement technologies via the MLB Ballpark app and other platforms. Fans will gain easy access to personalized offers, seamless online shopping, and straightforward payments with Click to Pay, making every interaction more rewarding.
“Mastercard is woven into the very fabric of baseball,” said Noah Garden, MLB Deputy Commissioner of Business and Media. “Together, we’ve redefined how fans engage with the sport, from payment methods to connecting with cultural causes. This partnership highlights our commitment to the fans, the community, and the lasting traditions of baseball.”
As the baseball season unfolds, Mastercard and MLB collaborate to craft unforgettable experiences. This partnership, after all, goes beyond sponsorship; it celebrates the passion and community that make baseball truly special.
