The past two years have been a Liam Hendrix roller coaster, and he’s now back on top.
His Tommy John Rehabilitation was finally completed, and Hendrix, who hadn’t pitched for nearly two years, was revitalized from the injured list.
The Australian had surgery in the summer of 2023, and although there was no ideal time for such an injury, luck simply wasn’t on Hendrix’s side.

Hendriks’ 2023 debut was postponed as he fought non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma earlier that year. He didn’t make his season debut until May 29th, but came in just five games before going under the knife. The surgery left him missing out on the rest of the season and everything from last year.
Now, along with the Boston Red Sox, Hendrix is back in the much-anticipated bump.
Hendrix appeared in spring training, but arm pain kept him in Illinois and began the season. He tried to make a comeback last year, but he suffered from a late-sacrificed set.

Before his injury, Hendrix became one of the most prominent closers in all of baseball, leading the majors with 38 saves in 2021.
Hendriks went to the 3rd century All-Star Game from 2019 to 2022 (there were no midsummer classics in 2020).
The pitcher owns a lifetime of 3.82 ERA, but it has swelled from the struggles of his early career. From 2011 to 2014, Hendrix struggled as a starter, owning a 5.92 ERA.
But something clicked as he owned an ERA 2.92 on a 54 outing from the bullpen after he became a full-time rescuer with the Toronto Blue Jays in 2015.

He then proved that 2015 was not 2015, as he owned a 2.97 ERA, over the next eight seasons at the Oakland track and field and the Chicago White Sox.
