Mixed martial artist and US veteran Mike Dragic knew he had to act when a 10-foot-long alligator threatened children outside his elementary school in Jacksonville, Florida.
Dragic, who participates in the Florida Nuisance Alligator Program, was reported to the school after an alligator refused to leave the area around the school, and administrators feared the alligator could harm children. .
‘All the pressure was really gone when I showed up,’ said Dragic Said fox friday american newsroom. “I saw a big crocodile when I went through that gate, so I thought I had to finish the job. So we did it.”
Dragic, a former U.S. Marine, barged in front of about 200 onlookers to try and drag the alligator out of the school with a collar.

“When I get close to alligators, I do my best to tire them out,” Dragic said of how he approached the job of exterminating alligators. “There are variations in energy levels, but I try my best not to get tired. You can subdue it and drive it out of there.”
Dragic also showed Fox a stainless steel pole that the crocodile had disfigured with its powerful jaws.
