A California jury has convicted a man of sending his teenage son to rob Philadelphia rapper PnB Rock, who was shot and killed during a confrontation at a Los Angeles restaurant.
A Los Angeles County jury took less than three hours to convict Freddie Trone of murder, conspiracy to commit robbery and two counts of second-degree robbery involving the 30-year-old rapper and his girlfriend. Fox 11 report.
Co-defendant Tremont Jones, 46, was also found guilty of two counts of second-degree robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit robbery. No murder charges were filed.
“Today, justice was served for Mr. Allen and his family, who lost a loved one to this senseless act of violence and have endured unimaginable suffering,” Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón said.

Both defendants are scheduled to be sentenced on August 27th.
The case against Trone’s 17-year-old son is being heard in juvenile court. Authorities are trying to determine if he is competent to stand trial. Trone’s wife and his son’s stepmother, Shawntelle Trone, has pleaded no contest to being an accessory after the fact. She is scheduled to be sentenced on January 16th.
PnB Rock Roscoe’s House of Chicken & Waffles On September 13, 2022, she was taking her boyfriend out in South Los Angeles when a suspect approached her and robbed her at gunpoint.
Prosecutors said the motive for the crime was to steal about $500,000 worth of jewelry. According to television reports, Jones allegedly fist-bumped with rapper Trone at a restaurant and then gave Trone information about the jewelry the rapper was wearing.
The rapper, whose real name is Rakim Allen, was shot multiple times in the back and chest during the robbery and the suspects fled in a getaway car, police said. Allen’s girlfriend, Stephanie Sibunhean, is the mother of his two children.

Trone was identified as the getaway driver. The teenage shooter was on parole or probation at the time of the shooting. Authorities previously confirmed to Fox 11 that the suspect was wearing an ankle monitor but was not being tracked.
During the trial, Trong said, “I wasn’t there. I didn’t tell anyone not to do anything.” He testified that his son and his car had gone missing, and that he had found his son in the car with three other “young people.”
His lawyer, Winston McKesson, said the teen’s shooter acted independently of his father.

“There is no evidence that my client was planning anything,” he told jurors, adding that the prosecution’s goal was to make jurors “dislike” Trone.
