The Soho property investor who allegedly beat and strangled his model fiancée after she rejected his marriage proposal was so twisted that he once told her: “I enjoy killing and I'm pretty good at it.” The lawsuit alleges that this is the case.

“While we were planning the wedding and living together, I was beaten and made to run down the street in Soho in my pajamas,” Liu told the Post. “We very much look forward to uncovering the truth in court.”

Mr. Yi “slammed Ms. Liu's head on the floor, put her in a headlock, strangled her, and sexually assaulted her.” [and] He restrained my arms,” the petite 26-year-old claimed in court papers.

After Ms. Liu was taken to the hospital, Ms. Yi, 48, locked her out of her Spring Street home, she claimed.

Liu, who met Yi through the dating app Hinge in June 2022, said this was not the first time Yi had become unstable.

John Yi denied the charges in a statement through his lawyer.

Mr. Yee previously said, “I put together a Range Rover and a Lamborghini. [and] He assaulted a tour guide while on a trip to China,” Liu said in the lawsuit.

He was arrested on charges of assault, obstruction of breathing, harassment and mischief against Mr. Liu, and pleaded guilty in October to disorderly conduct, according to the Manhattan District Attorney's Office. Mr. Yi was required to undergo a violence prevention program, and Mr. Liu was granted a limited protection order.

Mr. Yi's lawyer, Alan Sash, said Mr. Yee denies the allegations and that an earlier lawsuit brought against him by Mr. Liu has been dismissed.

Mr. Liu's lawyer, Bruce Bronster, said he expected Mr. Liu to win, adding: “The situation is heartbreaking and terrifying.”
