Model Kristen Gaffney says she is leaving California for Tennessee after Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass asked wealthy people to pay for housing for the city’s homeless.
As Breitbart News reported, Bass called on wealthy Los Angeles residents to help buy permanent housing for the homeless as part of a new initiative called LA4LA.
Breitbart News pointed out that:
Bass set a goal in early 2023 to move 17,000 homeless people off the city’s streets in his first year in office. And in fact, 21,000 people have been moved to temporary shelters, many to hotel and motel rooms.
But despite early successes, the homeless population continues to grow, with homeless numbers up 9% in the city and 10% in the county as of last year. And homeless encampments have returned, often in the very places from which they were evicted.
A number of efforts are already underway to tax L.A. residents to pay for homeless housing and services, including a sales tax hike and new taxes on home sales over $5 million.
gaffney Said He said he’s had enough of Fox News.
“Frankly, I feel a little taken advantage of when I too struggled and had to create opportunities for myself through hard work and education.” kristen ruelle gaffney, a Sports Illustrated model who lives in San Diego, told FOX News Digital by phone. “Why should someone else get a portion of my efforts?”
…
“I came from nothing,” she said. “I think the only thing my parents did for me financially was pay for my gas tank and maybe buy me groceries here and there at college.”
…
“You’ve taken enough from us and you’re just showing me it’s getting worse,” Gaffney said of homelessness. She attributes her frustration to both. president biden Governor Gavin Newsom and his policies.
