Eric Stonestreet is being criticized for not being as friendly as his fan-favorite character on “Modern Family” following a recent podcast appearance.
On June 25, podcaster Taylor Strecker interviewed Summer House star Paige DeSorbo. Amazon Live Show When asked who her “worst guest” was on the Taste of Taylor podcast, she said:
“Eric Stonestreet… he’s on Modern Family and he’s chubby and hilarious and sweet and funny,” Strecker told DeSorbo, adding, “How could he be anything else? Mean!”

Stonestreet, who played Cameron Tucker on the series for 11 seasons, was allegedly only interested in appearing on Strecker’s podcast to promote his partnership with Pepto Bismol.

“I had no idea!” Strecker admitted of Stonestreet’s reason for appearing on the show. “So we were just talking and I was just being my cute little self. And he was like, ‘So, when are we going to talk about Pepto-Bismol?’
She continued, “I said, ‘I have hemorrhoids. I’m the queen of diarrhea. I love Pepto-Bismol! You can tell me anything.’ And he said, ‘Someone didn’t do their homework.'”
“I said, ‘Sorry, but am I being paid by Pepto-Bismol? The answer is no, so it’s your job to find out, not mine,'” Strecker said.

DeSorbo jokingly added, “I’m calling Sofia Vergara to get to the bottom of it. Enough is enough.”
Strecker and Stonestreet’s podcasts are not online, and representatives for the actors did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

The video of Strecker and DeSorbo discussing Stonestreet was shared on Amazon Live’s official TikTok account, and the comments section was filled with “Modern Family” fans joining the conversation about the actor.
“Wow!!! So disappointing,” one user wrote, while another added, “Oh no, don’t say that.”

Some TikTok users said they had experienced similar abuse from Stonestreet.
“My parents said the same thing when they met him!” one user wrote. “I met him in person and was disappointed because he was a total jerk,” another wrote.

In 2017, Eric said his real personality was very different from his character Cam Tucker on “Modern Family,” leaving some fans disappointed when they met him in real life.

“I didn’t realize how much I was competing with the characters I played on TV,” Stonestreet says. He told Dan Patrick That was the case back then. “When I met people on the street, they would often ask me, ‘You look unwell. Is there something wrong with you?’ No, that’s just my personality.”

Stonestreet acknowledged that his character is much more “low-key and deadpan” than the flamboyant, boisterous characters he’s played on TV for more than a decade.

“I always feel like I see the look of disappointment on people’s faces, and I always feel like, ‘Wow, I’m letting people down,'” he said at the time.
