Molly Ringwald Says Trump Supporters Will Be Charged With Treason

On January 28, actress Molly Ringwald took to social media to voice her discontent with the current political situation in America, particularly targeting Trump supporters and ICE. She warned that these supporters might face consequences, even suggesting that they could be held accountable for treason once Trump is no longer in power. Ringwald referenced the tragic deaths of Alex Preti and Renee Good in Minneapolis before diving into her criticism.

“I can’t stay silent, and I think it’s important for you not to remain silent either,” Ringwald declared. “Awful things are unfolding in our country, despite it being one of the greatest places in the world.” She asserted that the government has taken a fascist turn, emphasizing her view that it’s no longer a potential threat but a current reality.

“Right now, this government is fascist,” she stated, insisting that ICE’s actions are brutal and inhumane. Ringwald urged viewers to transcend their political identities and assess the nation collectively. “Your political affiliation – whether you’re a Democrat, Republican, or indifferent – doesn’t matter. You need to consider the type of country you want to inhabit,” she asserted.

Reflecting on her youth in France, she recounted the aftermath of World War II, remarking how some individuals cooperated with Nazis while others resisted. She warned this history could repeat if Americans fail to challenge the injustices they observe, indicating that those who remain silent may find themselves labeled as collaborators in the future.

“We are human, and we must not lose our humanity,” she continued, seemingly urging action. “But if your concern is only for yourself, realize you’ll be viewed as someone who cooperated.” She communicated that nobody wants to be on the wrong side of history and implored people to speak out and protest.

Ringwald highlighted the severe consequences of current policies, describing children torn from their parents and the unjust deaths of innocent individuals. “We should remember their families, the children left behind,” she said, summarizing with an emotional appeal for empathy. “We all have someone we care for. Let’s do the right thing and stand up,” she concluded.
