Molly Sims Critiques Hollywood’s Beauty Secrets
Molly Sims is taking a firm stand against the unrealistic beauty standards often promoted by Hollywood. In a recent interview, the 53-year-old model expressed her frustration with the industry’s tendency to share misleading information about maintaining a camera-ready appearance.
“Back in the day, I received help from other models who said things like, ‘I’m getting injections,’ or ‘I only drink grapefruit juice,'” she shared. “But in Hollywood, the narrative was always, ‘I just drink lots of water and get eight hours of sleep.’ Honestly, that wasn’t my reality,” she admitted.
Sims also recounted a recent dinner with friends where they talked candidly about cosmetic procedures. “We just discussed everyone’s facelifts,” she noted. I suppose it shows how much the conversation has evolved over the years.
Martha Stewart on Aging and Surgery
Martha Stewart, at 85, chimed in as well, commenting on her plastic surgery. “It’s great for women to realize it’s more than just water and sleep,” she said, highlighting the availability of options like peptides.
Sims reflected on her entry into the modeling world, recalling a challenging period known as ‘heroin chic.’ She described it as an era where models were expected to be significantly underweight and the scrutiny was intense. “The pressure was pretty devastating,” she recalled. “I went from a fun college experience with my sorority sisters to a world that was quite different,” she added, suggesting that the industry’s expectations had a profound emotional impact on her.
Now, her fitness goals have shifted; she’s more focused on being healthy rather than trying to look younger. “I want to be my best at every age,” she said, emphasizing that being skinny isn’t her priority anymore.
Sims dropped out of Vanderbilt University in the early ’90s to pursue modeling and found fame through Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit edition, making a return several times over the years. Her most recent appearance in 2026 featured her in a variety of swimsuits. “If only I could have started at 20 and still be here at 52… I feel more confident than ever,” she expressed on social media, reflecting on her journey with gratitude.
Earlier this year, she shared her secret to preparing for bikini season on Instagram, touting the benefits of bone broth for digestion and joint health, calling it a significant change for her lifestyle. “Anti-aging,” she wrote, highlighting its impact on her overall well-being.
