Metallica Rose Harrison, a mother accused of murder, had been sharing cheerful photos of her husband and their young son on social media before the tragic events unfolded. Reports suggest that she allegedly stabbed both individuals to death at a resort in the Poconos and later contacted emergency services for assistance in taking her own life.
At 27 years old, Harrison frequently posted pictures featuring her family, including vacation snapshots from August. One such image depicted her enjoying a Ferris wheel ride with her son, who is referred to only by his initials, T.H.
Her husband, Charles Harrison, also had shared many joyful family moments on his social media, including a wedding photo showing a tender moment from three years ago.
Originally from Towanda, Pennsylvania, Harrison is accused of attacking her husband and son before inflicting wounds on herself within a hotel room at Great Wolf Lodge.
According to police, she subsequently called 911, seeking advice on how to find the right vein to cut, expressing her inability to end her life as intended.
When speaking to emergency responders, she reportedly stated, “My husband and son are already gone in the bed in the living room. They’re already gone, I’m sorry.”
While in custody, Harrison remained silent with law enforcement but shared with paramedics her struggles to be the ideal mother and wife. “It wasn’t supposed to end like this. I was supposed to have my happy family. That’s what I envisioned since I was a child,” she conveyed.
Authorities were seen outside their residence in Bradford County, about two hours from the hotel, as neighbors expressed their shock over the events. “I’ve heard sometimes a lot of yelling at times, but that’s pretty much it,” one neighbor mentioned. Another neighbor added, “They haven’t really been out running through the neighborhood; they just stay by themselves up by the house.”
Harrison was taken to a hospital to treat her self-inflicted injuries and is currently under police custody.
