In Lexington, Kentucky, a mother found herself in a surprising situation when her eight-year-old son managed to place an Amazon order for 70,000 lollipops. Despite her attempts to stop him, delivery trucks brought a staggering 22 cases right to her doorstep.
Holly Lafaber shared that her son, Liam, had wanted to host a carnival and thought the lollipops would make great prizes. “He just wanted to be kind and friendly to his friends,” she said. Fortunately, Amazon refunded her the $4,000 for the unauthorized purchase, and her bank even waived any associated fees.
Lafaber was able to laugh about the ordeal after the refund came through, although she still faced some confusion—she discovered that eight more cases from the same order were unaccounted for and ended up being returned to the sender.
Initially, Lafaber reached out to Amazon as soon as she realized what happened. The company advised her to refuse delivery for a refund. However, she insisted that the delivery driver never rang her doorbell, leaving her stuck with a massive shipment of candy.
After further communication with Amazon, they agreed to issue a refund. Lafaber mentioned that she won’t let the pile of lollipops go to waste; she plans to donate them. As for young Liam, she revealed he’s no longer allowed to use her phone for any purchases. Plus, she joked about the flavors, specifically noting a blue raspberry one.
