Mom involved in Cleveland Guardians stadium fight claims she was defending stepdaughter from ‘drunk, belligerent’ couple

ExclusiveAfter Outkick published a story about a brawl that took place in the stands during Friday night’s game between the Cleveland Guardians and Toronto Blue Jays, one of the women involved in the video reached out to tell her side of the footage.

Brandi Pierce sent an email to Outkick on Sunday afternoon to clarify one thing: the fight that broke out in the bleachers on Friday night was not started by her family.

“The only reason a fight started was because the couple behind us were drunk and belligerent,” Pierce wrote.

To provide context, she also sent a video of a blonde woman with a large tattoo on her left arm slurring her speech and yelling obscenities. In the video, Pierce’s stepdaughter can be heard telling the woman to “get out,” before adding, “We didn’t do anything to you.”

Pierce said the family went out to get some food after the screaming from behind them didn’t stop, and they left for about 30 minutes before returning.

A brawl broke out in the stands during the Cleveland Guardians vs. Toronto Blue Jays game on Friday night.

“we [returned to our seats] “The cops came and told them to calm down or they would take them away,” Pierce wrote in an email. “Immediately afterwards the blonde began accusing my stepdaughter of snitching on them to the cops.”

At that point, Pierce said she felt she had to defend her stepdaughter.

“Things escalated quickly and she jumped on my stepdaughter (who couldn’t hurt a fly) and started tugging at the back of my shirt and threatening her,” Pierce continued. “So I slammed a bowl of chicken nachos in her face and a physical altercation started.”

Pierce also sent Outkick a second video of the fight, in which Pierce can be seen throwing powerful punches at the woman and man while others, including Pierce’s husband, try to separate everyone. Pierce can also be heard saying, “She punched my husband!” in the woman wearing the red shirt.

Pierce is seen delivering powerful punches to both women and men.

The video was taken by a fan in the stands who was not associated with either party involved in the fight, but shared it with Pierce after the blonde woman and her partner were escorted off the field by security.

In a message to Pierce, the fan also said: “We all know what happened. [and] That blonde deserves it.”

Pierce added that neither she nor her family had been drinking alcohol at the time of the incident. In the second video, her stepdaughter can be seen holding a bottle of water.

She also said she apologised to fans nearby whose behaviour was disruptive due to the brawl.

“My husband and I were not drinking, but the couple behind us [showed up to the game] “I was drunk,” she said. “I tried to apologise to all the fans around me. Most of them accepted it and were happy to be kicked out.”

Pierce added that she and her family had not been drinking alcohol at the time of the incident.

She added that she had no intention of starting a fight when she went out to the ballpark in downtown Cleveland on Friday night.

“We didn’t want to get into a fight, but my daughter-in-law didn’t deserve a 40-year-old woman to get in her face after she asked for calm so other fans could watch the game,” she said.

“When I left I got a standing ovation for eliminating the blonde and her boyfriend.”

She added that she had no intention of starting a fight when she went out to the ballpark in downtown Cleveland on Friday night.

Pierce expressed disappointment that many media outlets covering the match called her and her family “drunk fools,” saying “that’s not true.”

She expressed her gratitude for the interview with OutKick and wanted to reach out to us to tell her story.

A fan who filmed the match said, “I’ve seen some of the stuff that’s been posted. [about the fight] It’s all a lie.”
