Mom wants justice for daughter, 11, slashed in NYC attack

An 11-year-old girl whose head was slashed by a homeless maniac was left “bathed in blood” in the attack but “lucky to be alive,” her mother tells The Post, furious at the career criminal who hurt her. He was put inside the bar where he requested.

“I thought, ‘Oh my God!’ She’s about to die,” Malgorzata Sladek said, remembering her daughter Maxi Park.

“The scars were huge,” the mother of two added.

“Her clothes and jacket were covered in blood. It looked like she had been showered with blood, like you poured red water on her.”

Authorities say the thug, who had a long rap sheet, cut the boy in the back of the head with a knife and cut his ear as he walked down the street holding his mother’s hand.

“I turned around and saw her hair on the sidewalk,” Sladek said. “Her head was cut open from top to bottom. Blood was pouring out of her head. It was a shock.”

The child required multiple stitches to repair the cut and was “feeling a little better” on Saturday, but was still recovering in the hospital, her mother said.

Sources said Cummings, 30, was accused of preying on a girl outside the 116th Street 6 subway station on Friday and then going underground shortly after he was accused of punching an unsuspecting 43-year-old woman around the corner. He is said to have run away.

Mr Sladek tried to chase Mr Cummings and called the conductor to stop the train from leaving, but he managed to escape.

Police eventually tracked him down a block away.

The footage shows the alleged assailant crouching behind the officer as a man pokes him with a cane.

“Why is this person walking the streets of New York? They need to change the laws.”

Residents living near the Norwood shelter said its residents were notorious for harassing people, but some considered Cummings to be one of the better-behaved temporary residents.

“They’re all normal one day and acting erratic another day, but I’ve never seen him act erratic,” one Norwood resident said. Told.

“It’s really disgusting to cut a woman, to cut a child. That’s huge. I thought he was one of the best players there.”

“[The shelter residents] harass women. They attack people, especially when they ask for money and they don’t give it,” added another resident.

“I live around here and that’s the worst thing they put there. It’s not safe. They could leave at any time.”
