Moment of Silence for Charlie Kirk at South Carolina Football Game
Before a recent football game between the University of South Carolina’s Gamecocks and Vanderbilt University, a moment of silence was observed in memory of Charlie Kirk, a conservative influencer. This took place at Williams-Brice Stadium, drawing attention from attendees.
Gavin J. Smith, president of the Inspyre Group, shared a photo highlighting this moment, capturing the atmosphere of the packed stadium. Charlie Kirk, who was 31, was tragically killed during an event at Utah Valley University. His death has resonated throughout the sports community, prompting other teams to also honor him with similar tributes.
The NFL paid tribute to Kirk during a game between the Green Bay Packers and the Washington Commanders. Notably, Dodgers pitcher Blake Treinen wrote Kirk’s name on his baseball cap, and NASCAR driver Christopher Bell dedicated his Bristol Motor Speedway win to him.
“He inspired us not to be afraid to use our voices. Don’t be afraid to speak our hearts,” expressed one USC student about Kirk. “He inspired us to continue fighting for what we believed in, paving the way for many of us.”
Kirk was shot on Wednesday during his event at Utah Valley University, surrounded by college students. Authorities have apprehended the suspected shooter, identified as Tyler Robinson.
