Monstrous thugs recorded ‘barbaric’ torture and sexual assault of a mom before murdering her, Alabama police say

Alabama mother kidnapped, tortured and sexually assaulted finally killed The group committed what police called a “deplorable and disgusting” crime.

Birmingham police have arrested eight suspects in connection with the murder of 20-year-old mother-of-one Mahogany Jackson.

At around 8 a.m. on February 25, Jackson contacted her mother and told her, “Please don’t call me because I will send the police who are holding me hostage,” and also sent her sister her whereabouts.

Her body was found the next day with a gunshot wound to the back of the head. Her body was found under a mattress at an illegal dumping site in Birmingham.

Birmingham Police Homicide Detective Mark Green on Monday. testified Approximately five videos showed the attack on Jackson.

Police believe she went to the house of Brandon Pope, 24, to play with friends and was assaulted by a group of people there. The first video showed Jackson naked, being punched by 25-year-old Teja Lewis and kicked by 23-year-old Shinya McCall. They then stuffed her into a trunk and took her to another location.

Investigators said the second location was an apartment Lewis and McCall shared, and that video showed the group beating and torturing the victim. They allegedly handcuffed her, spat on her, slapped her and pistol-whipped her.

One video allegedly captured part of the sexual assault against Jackson. Police say she was forced to perform sex acts while a gun was pressed to the back of her head.

Police charged 23-year-old Jovonnie Clapp and 25-year-old Blair Green with felony murder, first-degree kidnapping and first-degree sodomy.

McCall was charged with felonies of murder, first-degree kidnapping and first-degree sodomy, and Lewis was charged with felonies of murder.

Jeremiah McDowell, 18, Francis Harris, 25, and Brandon Pope were charged with capital murder in the first degree kidnapping and capital murder in the first degree sodomy.

Arianna Lachey Robinson, 23, was charged with felony murder and kidnapping.

Birmingham Police Chief Scott Thurmond said the crime was one of the worst in his law enforcement career.

“The defendants’ actions were barbaric and have no place in society,” said Jefferson County District Attorney Danny Carr. “The senseless and inhumane treatment that continued against young Mahogany Jackson was deeply disturbing and violent.”

Some of the videos were posted on social media. Because of this, the victim’s mother, Gail Maddox, begged and implored people to stop posting and sharing these with her daughter’s family.

“That’s my child. Please stop. I can’t stand it,” she wrote on Facebook.
