recent Gallup poll It turns out that more Republican women are now gun owners than ever before, while fewer Democratic-leaning men own guns.
The share of Republican female gun owners increased from 19% from 2007 to 2012 to 33% from 2019 to 2024, according to a Gallup poll released Thursday.
22% of Republican women surveyed from 2013 to 2018 told Gallup that they owned a gun. This means gun ownership among conservative women has increased by 50% since then.
“Meanwhile, the share among Democratic men fell seven points to 29%, and among independent men it fell five points to 39%,” Gallup added. “Among gender and political party identification subgroups, male Republicans remain the most likely to own a gun, at 60%.”

Gallup says that while the national gun ownership rate is still around 30%, this number means that “a sharp increase in gun ownership among Republican women offsets a decline among Democratic and independent men.” “I'm hiding it,” he said.
“On the other hand, ownership remains high among Republican men, but relatively low among Democratic and independent women.”
Men are still more likely to own a gun than women in general, and the study found that gun ownership is “more of an individual issue than in the past, perhaps because gun issues are more salient in today's political movements and culture.” “It may be influenced by political beliefs.” ”
Vice President Kamala Harris recently surprised the nation by announcing she owns a gun, but Republican women weren't necessarily drawn to the admission.

In early November, FOX News Digital spoke with female gun owners who responded to the statement, calling it “smoke campaign rhetoric.”
“I don't see her as a gun owner who practices and upholds the right to protect themselves,” said firearms instructor Jane Milhans.

“When Kamala Harris started talking about owning a Glock, I felt nothing,” Amara Burns, founder of the National Association of Women Gun Owners, told FOX News Digital. “We all understand that it's pandering to the right and it's a virtue. And she's like, we're all stupid enough not to realize that she's totally against guns.” ”
