Recent polls show that more Republicans have a more favorable view of Donald Trump than Nikki Haley.
YouGov poll found While 45% of Americans have a “very favorable” or “somewhat favorable” opinion of the former president, only 34% have the same opinion of the former U.N. ambassador. .
Haley and Trump, the remaining leading contenders in the Republican presidential primary, have taken swipes at each other numerous times in recent weeks, including one in which Haley says she’s a “grumpy old man” going after Trump and President Biden. It also includes an ad entitled “Do you want to say that?” their age.
The poll also found that more Americans think Trump is more authentic than Haley, with 30% saying the former president is more authentic than the former South Carolina governor. Of those who responded, 20% said Haley was more authentic than Trump.
But more Americans see Haley as a caring person. 27% said Haley is more considerate than Trump, and 23% said Trump is more considerate than Haley.
President Trump said in a post on the Truth social platform last week that anyone who contributed to Haley would be “permanently banned from the MAGA camp.”
“Anyone who ‘contributes’ to Birdbrain is now forever banned from the MAGA camp,” he wrote, using the nickname he uses for Haley. “We don’t want them, we won’t have them, and we never will, because we put America first!”
Haley said, “Forbidden. Forever.”
“Enough is enough…get your shirt here!” Haley wrote in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, where supporters can donate $5 to get a shirt. Said it was linking to the site.
The YouGov poll was conducted from January 24th to 30th, surveyed 1,000 American adults, and has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
