More than 98% of Americans dismiss No Kings' latest outburst.

On June 14, a protest labeled No Kings took place, backed by nearly 200 supporters with significant financial resources. The event aimed to rally people against President Donald Trump. Unfortunately, the turnout was underwhelming, revealing a progressive base that seemed largely disengaged—over 98% of Americans were estimated not to participate.

Interestingly, despite the organizers touting the event as a success, the numbers suggested otherwise, with only around 5 million participants reportedly gathered. The American Civil Liberties Union commented on the situation.

“Today’s protest is an overwhelming message that people across the country will not be threatened by President Trump’s terrifying tactics,” was stated by Deirdre Schifeling, ACLU’s political director.

Amidst such a colossal investment, it seems many attendees expressed a sense of fatigue and a lack of focus in the broader leftist protests, with most citizens not paying much attention to the assembly.

The organizers did not aim to mobilize 3.5% of the U.S. population, but even their own estimates indicated that the attendance was just shy of 1.5%.

One of the sponsors, the ACLU, described the event as “the largest mass mobilization since President Trump took office,” hinting at a widespread series of protests held across 2,100 locations nationwide.

Moreover, Christopher Bedford, a senior political editor, commented on how the No Kings movement is attempting to energize and organize the Democratic base. He noted that various incidents, from confrontations involving lawmakers to civil unrest, may be intentional provocation aimed at shaping public sentiment.

The Kings plan to hold a virtual meeting soon to discuss future strategies for sustaining national momentum.
