Morgan Warren Pleads Guilty in Nashville Chair-Throwing Incident

Morgan Warren recently faced charges related to an incident where he allegedly threw a chair off a balcony at a bar in Nashville, specifically targeting country star Eric Church.

On April 7, 2024, the Metronashville Police responded to the scene after a chair fell near a patrol vehicle. Following this event, Warren ultimately pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges tied to the case, which were originally felony charges.

In December, Judge Cynthia Chapel sentenced Warren to a week at the DUI Education Center and two years of supervised probation. His charges were downgraded from felonies to misdemeanors before he opted to plead guilty.

Details of the Incident

Initially, Warren denied throwing the chair, but bodycam footage showed him making calls and discussing the situation with officers. During the footage, he remarked, “Eric Church is making calls,” indicating a connection to the singer and bar owner. He also expressed his feelings about being taken in by police outside a bar he dismissed with a profanity.

The bodycam video also captures officers reviewing surveillance footage, which ultimately confirmed the chair-throwing incident. Warren, although hesitant to admit his actions, did express remorse, saying, “I really meant no harm” and “I’m sorry for causing problems.” An officer noted that, while Warren didn’t directly admit guilt, he appeared to acknowledge his actions on camera.

Aftermath and Continuing Career

While detained, Warren amusingly engaged with officers by asking them to list their favorite country singers. When a track featuring singer Thomas Lett played on the radio, he cheerfully recognized it, saying, “This is me and Thomas Lett! He’s definitely not arrested.”

Initially, he faced serious charges including disorderly conduct and several counts of felony reckless danger due to throwing a chair from the bar’s roof. His attorney, Warrick Robinson, emphasized that Warren cooperated fully with authorities and expressed a desire to make a positive impact through his music and charity.

Since the trial concluded, Warren has shifted his focus back to his music career, recently releasing his fourth studio album titled “I’m The Problem.”
