Morgan Wallen’s Success Is Giant Slap In The Face To One Washed-Up Pop Star

Rumors swirled Friday about country music icon Morgan Wallen wanting to rub his success in Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine’s face.

Levine dropped Wallen on season six of “The Voice,” which is so crazy to think about now with Wallen coming out of his second consecutive year of stardom as country (and mainstream) music’s #1 selling artist. And apparently Wallen is enjoying revenge in the form of his own success, gloating about the massive mistake Levine made by dropping him, sources told RadarOnline.

Wallen was only 21 when he appeared on the musical competition show. He was originally part of Usher’s team before joining Levine, but Levine bailed on Wallen after just two rounds, and clearly missed one of the biggest opportunities he could have had in his dwindling career.

“It deeply hurt Morgan’s confidence. For a while, he thought he should find a real job rather than pursue his music dreams,” a close pal said, per the outlet. “But finally, he mustered up the nerve and courage to say, ‘I’ll show Adam!’ and kept going.” (RELATED: Even While Sick, Morgan Wallen Breaks Another Country Music Record)

Levine was once the go-to pop singer as the frontman of Maroon 5. And, to give them their due, Maroon 5 actually did have one or two amazing albums … that is, before Levine leaned into being a professional celebrity instead of an artist.
