Injury Update on Moses Moody
Moses Moody, a guard for the Golden State Warriors, faced a serious leg injury during a recent game against the Dallas Mavericks, leaving the court on a stretcher.
Moody was trying to perform a dunk after stealing the ball from Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg in overtime. It seemed straightforward, but as he soared for the slam, his knees buckled, leading to a tough landing.
Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr and players from both teams watched in shock as Moody was tended to for several minutes. Kerr mentioned that Moody was undergoing X-rays at the American Airlines Center after the incident. “I saw his leg break. I saw him fall down in agony. I don’t know what it is, but things certainly looked bad. You just hope for the best. What is the best-case scenario? That’s what we all hope for,” Kerr explained, clearly shaken.
This was Moody’s first game back after recovering from a sprained wrist. Before his injury, he had an impressive run, scoring 23 points and securing three steals.
Kerr expressed his admiration for Moody, highlighting his positive impact on the team. “Mo is a great person, a great teammate, and a great coach. He played really well on defense, changed our game with his ball pressure, and knocked down big shots. It’s nice to have him back, but for that to happen…you just pray it’s not too serious.” Kerr’s concern was palpable, and you could feel the weight of the moment for both him and the team.
Brandin Podzemski, another Warriors guard, drew a comparison to a past incident involving Jimmy Butler, recalling how painful it was to see someone so good suffer an injury. “I hate to see that, especially for the good people in life,” he said, reflecting on the emotional toll such injuries can take.
Despite the drama, the Warriors managed to clinch a win, finishing the game with a score of 137-131. Looking ahead, Golden State is now preparing for the play-in tournament, aiming to secure a position among the eight teams contending for the NBA title.
