However, new NPR/PBS News/Marist A national poll released Tuesday found that about 70% of Americans don’t know Harris’ new running partner.
The same poll also found that Sens. Josh Shapiro (D-Pennsylvania) and Mark Kelly (D-Arizona), who were considered the leading candidates for vice president, were better known by the American public.
Waltz has recently been called a dark horse candidate, especially after participating in a controversial interview in which he attacked Republicans as “wackos,” a term that has surprisingly become a popular insult, now used by Democrats and left-leaning voters who don’t want Trump re-elected.
This simple phrase, referring to the Republican Party, is now being repeated by Democratic leaders and the mainstream media.
“Vice President Harris made an excellent decision in selecting Governor Walz as her running mate,” said Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).
Before entering politics, Walz was a high school social studies teacher and football coach. He also enlisted in the Army National Guard at age 17 and served for 24 years, eventually rising to the rank of artillery sergeant.
Before taking office as governor in 2018, Walz served six terms in the House of Representatives.
The poll begins on August 1.st– August 4NumberThis included 1,613 adults and had a margin of error of 3.3 percentage points.
