Most Americans Support RFK Jr.’s Food Industry Reforms

A new poll shows that an overwhelming majority of Americans support Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s reforms to the food industry and public health.

The issues raised by Kennedy, President-elect Donald Trump's choice to head the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in the next administration, are widely shared among most Americans, including most Republicans and Democrats, according to the latest YouGov report. It is said to be supported. public opinion poll.

Specifically, nearly 8 in 10 American adults support requiring federally funded nutrition education in medical schools, and 74% support removing certain additives, including colorants, from the nation's food supply. They responded that they supported banning it.

Polls show that banning food additives has wide support across political lines, with 74% of Democrats and 81% of Republicans supporting such a plan.

Similarly, 66% of Americans, including 71% of Democrats and 66% of Republicans, want the federal government to tighten restrictions on pesticide use on agricultural products.

A majority of Republicans (66%) and Democrats (68%) also support banning processed foods from public school lunches.

Republicans and Democrats are even more divided on other public health issues raised by Kennedy, such as whether the weight-loss drug Ozempic should be restricted. Only 43% of Democrats support drug restrictions, compared to 52% of Republicans.

Polls show that Republicans and Democrats are most divided on the issue of fluoride in the nation's drinking water. President Kennedy said he wanted to remove fluoride from drinking water. Fifty-six percent of Republicans support eliminating fluoride, compared to just 32 percent of Democrats.

In August of this year, while endorsing Trump as a presidential candidate, Kennedy laid out his vision for government regulatory agencies not being controlled by “big commercial corporations.” Government regulatory agencies have demonized America's food supply, medicines, and environment. Toxic chemicals and additives are leading to an increased prevalence of chronic diseases.

“Two-thirds of American adults and children have a chronic health problem,” Kennedy said. “Fifty years ago, that number was less than 1 percent. We've grown from 1 percent to 66 percent.”
