Political Rhetoric Discussion on CNN
During Thursday’s segment on “CNN News Central,” Representative Seth Moulton (D-MA) emphasized the need for unity among Democrats, calling for a decrease in harsh rhetoric and a halt to political violence. He expressed surprise that many Republicans have not embraced this sentiment, stating that everyone agrees on the importance of toning down harsh language.
Moulton further remarked, “We should categorically condemn political violence. It’s a serious issue in America and is wholly unacceptable. As a father of two young daughters, I can’t help but reflect on the challenges families are currently facing because of this.”
Following this, Kate Boldian presented a video featuring Utah Governor Spencer Cox (R), to which Moulton responded affirmatively, saying, “The governor is absolutely correct. We must denounce violence in all forms. There’s a shared understanding that we need to come together.”
He later pointed out that everyone should engage in self-reflection regarding the sources of this violence, noting that extreme views on both sides often point fingers at one another.
