Poll Shows Divided Opinions on Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show
A recent survey indicated that many Florida Republicans are opting out of watching Bad Bunny’s halftime show during the Super Bowl. Interestingly, the Democratic Party appears to have similar intentions.
The poll, published on Friday, revealed that 68% of Florida’s registered voters plan to tune into Super Bowl LX this Sunday. Among those, 75% of Democrats, 65% of Republicans, and 63% of independents expressed interest in watching the game between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots.
However, opinions diverge sharply when it comes to the halftime performance.
When asked if they would catch the halftime show featuring Bad Bunny, a striking 89% of registered Democrats said yes, contrasted with only 40% of Republicans. Independent voters seemed more inclined to watch, with 77% indicating they would.
The poll also highlighted demographic differences, revealing that 93% of black voters and 81% of Hispanic voters planned to watch the show, while just 58% of white voters decided to stay for the performance by the “woke” rapper.
Age and gender played a role too; 80% of voters under 55 showed interest in watching, compared to 54% of those 55 and older. Additionally, 72% of women and 63% of men said they intended to watch the show.
Conducted by the Institute for Public Opinion and Sports Impact Jacks at the University of North Florida, the poll surveyed 823 registered voters, with a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
For those not interested in Bad Bunny, Turning Point USA is hosting an alternative halftime show. Kid Rock will headline, joined by performers like Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett under the auspices of the conservative organization founded by the late Charlie Kirk.
Bad Bunny has been vocal about various political issues, including his refusal to stand for “God Bless America” at a Yankees game last October and his recent critique of President Donald Trump regarding immigration policies.
This Super Bowl may also feature a dose of political commentary during the performance kickoff. ’90s punk band Green Day is scheduled to play just before the teams enter Levi’s Stadium. While the duration of their performance and setlist remain unclear, they recently altered the lyrics of their classic “American Idiot,” swapping “redneck agenda” for “MAGA agenda” in a live performance.
However, reports suggest that Green Day’s iconic track might not make it to the Super Bowl stage, as sources indicate that “the NFL wouldn’t allow it in a million years.”
