Mother admits to killing and dismembering her son with his partner after he reportedly abused her.

Recent reports indicate that an Italian mother and her wife have been implicated in the murder of their son, which they then attempted to conceal. Lorena Venier, 61, confessed to killing her son Alessandro Venier, 35. His wife, Mehlin Castro Monsalvo, 30, contacted the police on July 25 and revealed her involvement in what she described as a necessary act.

Alessandro’s dismembered body was discovered buried in the yard of the home he shared with his wife and their six-month-old daughter in Gemona del Friuli, Italy.

During court proceedings, Lorena stated, “I took care of myself in the dismantling of Alessandro.” She detailed in the courtroom how she used a hacksaw and a sheet to manage the blood and claimed to have cut him into three pieces without leaving any blood splatter, which made it challenging for the Carabinieri police to find the evidence right away.

The motive behind the murder appears to stem from a history of abuse; Castro had reportedly endured months of violence from Alessandro. Lorena mentioned that Castro had implored her for months to take action since the birth of their daughter in January. “Mailin was beaten violently, humiliated, and threatened. My son dismissed her postpartum struggles, and when I decided to speak out, he attacked me,” she recounted.

Plans for a potential move to Colombia had been discussed, but Lorena felt compelled to intervene. “I wouldn’t let them go to Colombia; Mailin and the baby would be in serious danger,” she claimed. She believed the only way to stop Alessandro was to kill him.

According to local sources, prior to the murder, Alessandro allegedly threatened to drown Castro. In an effort to carry out their plan, Lorena and Castro reportedly mixed a tranquilizer into a drink and administered insulin, which didn’t incapacitate him as expected.

Afterward, they resorted to more violent methods, using a pillow to choke him and shoelaces for strangulation. Lorena clarified in court that Castro’s role was limited to moving the body.

Ultimately, Lorena had hoped that Alessandro’s disappearance would go unnoticed, especially since the family planned to relocate to South America. However, Castro’s subsequent confession led to their undoing.

Currently, Lorena faces charges of murder and concealing a body, while Castro is under investigation for incitement to murder.
