New Zealand Mom Sets Record Running Barefoot on LEGO Bricks

This was certainly no child’s play.

A mom from New Zealand has made headlines after breaking a world record for running across a track made entirely of LEGO bricks. Remarkably, she did this with bare feet.

Gabriel Wall achieved the Guinness World Record for the fastest 100 meters run barefoot on LEGO earlier this year, in January. However, she recently gained massive attention online, amassing 9.3 million views after her video was shared by Guinness World Records on Instagram.

Comments flooded in as people reacted to her unusual achievement. One person joked, “There was no secret coaching; just countless midnight trips to the bathroom avoiding the LEGO mine left by her kids.” Another suggested, “We really need a couple of kids with a lot of LEGO at home.”

Some viewers were left puzzled. One asked rhetorically, “Why would anyone want to learn how to do this?”

Another quipped, “Proof that Mama will do anything for a day off.”

Wall, a mother of two, completed the race in 24.75 seconds, noting that it was one of the items on her bucket list, inspired by health concerns she faced in 2022. “I’m proud to push myself beyond new limits,” she reflected, calling the experience “unforgettable.”

The track itself was quite a sight, consisting of approximately 661 pounds of LEGO bricks. This event was connected to Imagination Station, a New Zealand charity that conducts classes using toys created by Danish carpenters back in 1932.

While Wall’s accomplishment was celebrated, some comments on social media drew more attention, with one saying, “She is literally the most mentally ill person on the planet.” Such varied reactions highlight just how unconventional her feat really is.
