Mother of missing graduate student Eliotte Heinz remains hopeful as the search extends into the fourth day

The worried mother of missing Wisconsin graduate student Elliot Heinz is doing her best to stay hopeful, stating that her daughter, Amber Heinz, is important to them all.

“We’re just trying to keep things positive,” Amber remarked, noting that her 22-year-old sister has not been seen since around 3:20 AM on Sunday.

“Our focus is on wishing for the best outcome. It’s about getting back to being together and continuing her journey as she becomes an incredible person,” she expressed.

Amber was last seen after a night out at Broncobar, a small venue in Lacrosse, where she left around 2:30 AM on Sunday with a friend.

Security footage later captured her walking near the Mississippi River waterfront, which is roughly a 30-minute stroll from the bar.

“We attempted to reach her on Sunday morning, but we couldn’t get through,” her mother shared.

“We usually connect all the time. We had spoken earlier that week, but when we couldn’t get a hold of her on Sunday, we sensed something was off,” she added.

The family and friends of the missing student have been distributing flyers around Lacrosse over the last few days as police and volunteers actively search for her.

“We’re just trying to spread her photos and focusing on the ongoing efforts at the police station,” her mother said.

“We’re here for Elliott.”

Viterbo University expressed their support through a message from the family’s social media, highlighting the importance of sharing Eliotte’s information online.

The family also urged residents in the vicinity where she was last spotted to check their security cameras from early Sunday. “Even the smallest details might help,” they emphasized.

Eliotte was studying in Viterbo’s mental health counseling program, her mother mentioned.
