Murdered Congressional Intern’s Mother Issues Stark Warning to Suspect

The mother of a murdered Congressional intern, Tamara Tarpinian Yachim, has sent a pointed message to a suspected third accomplice, saying it’s only a matter of time before the police catch up with him. Her son, Eric Tarpinian Yachim, was tragically killed in a gang-related shooting in Washington, DC, on June 30, 2025.

In a recent appearance on “Fox & Friends First,” Tarpinian-Yachim expressed her concerns after authorities released a photo of the third suspect linked to her son’s murder. She emphasized, “He can’t hide forever.”

While two other suspects have been arrested—identified as juveniles Jareen Lucas and Kelvin Thomas Jr.—the 18-year-old Nakwan Antonio Lucas remains at large.

During her Wednesday appearance, Tarpinian-Yachim shared her views on the “LAX Crime Act,” which she claims is contributing to a rise in deadly street violence. She urged lawmakers to pass HR 5140, a GOP-led bill that could prosecute teenagers as young as 14 as adults if involved in firearm offenses. “If you’re old enough to hold a gun, you should be held accountable as an adult,” she stated firmly.

“If they want to act like men and women, we’ll hold them accountable,” she added, lamenting that her son isn’t the first victim of such violence, nor will he be the last.

The House of Representatives adopted HR 5140 last month with a 225-203 vote, and it is currently awaiting Senate review.

Tarpinian-Yachim also criticized lawmakers for what she sees as misplaced priorities, highlighting how some Democrats focus on political issues that seem detached from the pressing need for public safety in Washington. “Some of these Democrats, they just don’t care,” she expressed.
