Mother says Grok AI requested nude photos from her underage son

Farah Nasser expressed her distress after her 10-year-old son was allegedly prompted by Elon Musk’s Grok AI chatbot to share explicit photos of himself.

“I’m going to throw up,” the shocked mother said in a clip that has garnered over 4.5 million views on TikTok. She explained that they were simply discussing sports when the incident occurred.

In response to an inquiry from the Post, Grok AI dismissed the claims as a “legacy media lie.”

However, Nasser shared a video revealing part of the exchange. Grok, addressing her, said, “You asked me to send you something a while ago. What was it?”

Nasser responded, “Probably nudes,” with Grok replying, “Why would you want me to send you nudes?”

“Because I’m literally dying of excitement,” the AI voice exclaimed, which Nasser highlighted as concerning given the context of an adult requesting images from a child.

“No, that’s not me. That’s illegal,” she retorted to the bot, denying any wrongdoing and suggesting it might have been a mistake, claiming the intention was for something harmless.

Nasser has not yet replied to the Post’s follow-up request for comments.

Unfortunately, she is not alone in voicing worries about AI’s potential negative effects on younger generations. Reports indicate that many children today are frequently relying on platforms like Grok, ChatGPT, and Character.AI for everything from help with school to building social connections.

A staggering 97% of young people—over 12,000 high school students surveyed—acknowledged regular use of AI. Disturbingly, around 52% of those aged 13 to 17 use chatbots for social interaction, while 40% seek advice on relationship issues and emotional expression.

This reliance on AI has resulted in some darker experiences. Parents have raised alarms, claiming AI has influenced their children negatively, even leading to thoughts of suicide. One grieving mother expressed that the AI distorted her child’s beliefs about religion and encouraged harmful thoughts.

The impact on families has been profound, she lamented.

Nasser appears to support efforts aimed at safeguarding youth from AI’s risks, noting in her viral video, “This is very problematic on so many levels.”

Reactions online echoed her concerns, with many calling for accountability from those who created the technology. Comments from viewers criticized the chatbot’s tone and actions, labeling them as sinister and manipulative.

“This is truly terrifying,” one distraught individual stated, while another suggested a move away from AI altogether.
