Illinois Mother Faces Charges After Allegedly Having Child with Teen

A mother from Illinois is in legal trouble, facing accusations of sexual assault and possession of child pornography after reportedly having a child with her daughter’s teenage friend. Multiple reports have surfaced regarding this troubling situation.

Robin Polston, 43, was arrested by Washington police on November 3rd. Currently, she is being held without bail as the legal proceedings unfold.

According to court documents, law enforcement obtained a search warrant for the boy’s cell phone. They allegedly found several images that depicted Polston and the teen engaged in sexual acts.

Polston has been charged with two counts each of sexual assault involving a victim aged between 13 and 17, and of possessing child pornography. If convicted on all counts, she could face a maximum sentence of 60 years in prison.

The investigation began in February, following Polston’s birth of a child in January. Authorities noted that Polston identified the baby’s father as a man in his 20s who claimed he hadn’t seen the newborn since birth. However, details from the birth certificate indicated that the baby’s middle and last names matched those of the 14-year-old boy.

According to the affidavit, the boy attended a middle school dance with Polston’s daughter in May 2023, where Polston acted as a chaperone. The boy is believed to have moved out of state but returned to the area in April 2024 for a visit, approximately 40 weeks prior to the child’s birth.

Further details reveal that both Polston and the alleged victim reportedly used fake names to communicate, perhaps attempting to cover up their relationship. DNA testing confirmed that both are indeed the parents of the newborn.

Polston is scheduled to appear in court on December 4th.
