Police in Florida are searching for a driver they believe intentionally crashed into a motorcycle at an unsafe speed in an incident captured on dashcam footage.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), a person driving a gray or silver 2020 Honda Civic chased a 52-year-old motorcycle rider northbound on Interstate 75 in Sumter County when he crashed into the vehicle. The scene was witnessed.

The crash was captured on another driver’s dashcam shortly after midnight Friday.
“The motorcyclist passed a commercial vehicle on the outside shoulder and the Honda passed in the center lane,” FHP said. press release obtained By Fox News. “After the two vehicles passed the commercial vehicle, the driver of the Honda suddenly swerved onto the outside shoulder and intentionally collided with the motorcycle.”
As the Civic sped away, the motorcyclist was thrown and overturned multiple times before landing in a wooded area on the side of the highway, law enforcement said.
The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) said in a statement that the motorcycle driver was taken to a hospital with “serious injuries.”

No information has been released on the identity of the driver of the Civic at this time, and FHP is appealing for anyone with information regarding the hit-and-run crime.
