Mr. Bungle’s Theo Lengyel arrested for murder of missing girlfriend

On Tuesday, a founding member of the 1980s experimental band was arrested and charged with murdering his missing girlfriend after police discovered human remains in nearby woods.

Theobald “Theo” Lengyel, who played saxophone, clarinet and keyboards for Mr. Bungle, was previously arrested after refusing to cooperate with police in the disappearance of Alice “Alix” Kamakaokalani Herman, 61. He was considered a person of interest.

Police said it became clear early in the investigation that “foul play was involved” in Herman's disappearance, and that Herman was last seen alive 10 days earlier. Regardless, the incident began on December 12th.

Lengyel, also known as “Milo Stone,” has been on the radar of investigators ever since Herman's family reported her missing.

In the days following her disappearance, he is said to have spent more than 600 miles driving from his home in El Cerrito, California, to Portland, Oregon.

While Mr. Herman was away, police found his car parked in front of his home, just eight miles north of Berkeley.

Police have not released a motive for the suspected murder.

Mr. Herman was last seen on December 3rd.

Lengyel was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail without bail on a first-degree murder charge, records show.

He was also charged with felony robbery and motor vehicle theft.

Lengyel is best known for playing in Mr. Bungle, a Bay Area rock band founded in 1985 by singer Mike Patton, guitarist Trey Spruance, and bassist Trevor Dunn while still in high school. There is.
