MrBeast, the billionaire YouTuber, is getting money from his mom for his wedding.

It turns out even billionaires might rely on a little financial help from time to time.

MrBeast, known as Jimmy Donaldson and reportedly worth around $1 billion, mentioned he’s a bit cash-strapped and has asked his mom for money to cover his wedding expenses with fellow creator Thea Booysen.

He addressed his finances on X, reacting to a post that pointed out he’s the only billionaire under 30 who hasn’t inherited his wealth.

“Honestly, I don’t have much cash on hand because I reinvest nearly everything,” he boasted, adding, “I’m planning to spend about $400 million on content this year.” He shared this on June 1st, claiming over 400 million subscribers.

“Funny enough, I borrowed money from my mom for the wedding,” he joked. “But my business is certainly valued quite a lot.”

MrBeast’s ventures include various projects such as a competition series called “Beast Games,” where the winner can snag a hefty prize of $10 million, as well as a chocolate brand.

He has also criticized Trump’s tariffs, saying that producing his ethically sourced chocolate overseas is “much cheaper.”

Yet he has faced some legal troubles, including lawsuits tied to snack brands.

In May, the Mexican government took action against the media firm responsible for one of MrBeast’s popular videos titled “We explored an ancient temple from 2000 years ago,” where he filmed outside the Mayan pyramids. He branded his treats as “Special Mayan Dessert” and “the only Mayan approved snack on earth.”

The government acknowledged that MrBeast and his team had permission to film at various sites, including Chichén Itzá near Cancun, but claimed he lacked a license for commercial filming.

They accused the YouTuber of breaching the terms of his archaeological permit and said he profited off “heritage belonging to all Mexicans.”

Despite this, he rebuffed such accusations, stating, “This video… was meant to shine a light on these valuable Mayan sites in Mexico. It’s unfortunate that it has become a political matter, given that no advertisements were filmed at a site supervised by the INAH (National Institute of Anthropology and History).”

Furthermore, in September 2024, he faced a lawsuit from five participants of “Beast Games” claiming “chronic abuse” and sexual harassment.

In response, a spokesperson from MrBeast’s company stated that while the promotional shoot for the video included over 2,000 participants, unforeseen issues like inclement weather and logistical challenges complicated matters. They expressed gratitude to those who attended in Toronto, emphasizing their commitment to gather feedback and learn from the situation.

MrBeast and Booysen met in South Africa back in 2022 and have been inseparable since.

Recently, they hinted at a more intimate wedding, saying it wouldn’t be a grand event for the public.

“This is definitely going to be a celebration with close family and friends,” MrBeast shared with People. “I don’t really take vacations due to how hard I work, so I want the wedding to be a time to enjoy with people I love.”

Booysen added that they are even considering an island for the ceremony. “We’re thinking about a place far from the crowd,” she said, emphasizing they’re not aiming for a lavish wedding but rather something personal and close-knit.
