Former Democratic senator and MSNBC analyst Claire McCaskill said Wednesday that President-elect Trump knows the United States better than they know themselves when discussing President-elect Donald Trump's victory over Vice President Kamala Harris. He said there was a need to acknowledge that.
“I think we have to admit that Donald Trump knows our country better than we do,” McCaskill said. “I think he understood that anger and frankly fear are much more powerful than appealing to people's better angels, and that anger and fear should serve him well in this election.” Whether you're afraid of immigrants or you're afraid of immigrants, trans, he got it.”
FOX News predicted that Trump will become the next US president.
“And I think we all thought everyone's better angels were going to win. After all, when Donald Trump came down the escalator, the better angels were on vacation. And they has not returned,” she added.

MSNBC host Joe Scarborough also reflected on Trump's victory.
“I have to say this is the biggest red wave I've seen since Ronald Reagan won 49 states in 1984,” Scarborough said. “All Republicans across the country seem to have improved.”
He also noted that races in states like New Jersey and Illinois are closer than usual.
Trump addressed supporters early Wednesday morning.
