MSNBC and CNN refused to air former President Donald Trump's Republican Iowa caucus victory speech Monday night, but also aired speeches by his fellow candidates.
MSNBC's Rachel Maddow announced on air that President Trump had just begun his speech, but the network decided not to air it because it didn't want to air something it knew was “false.”
she said:
At this point in the evening, the projected winner of the Iowa caucuses has just begun his victory speech. We'll keep watching until that happens. If there's anything noteworthy, substantive and important in that speech, we'll let you know if we have any news. I say this, of course, because we and other news organizations have generally stopped providing a live, unfiltered platform for former President Trump's statements. I'm not upset that there is and it's not a decision we should be happy about. This is a decision we consider regularly, and let's be honest, it's not an easy one. But as a news organization, there is a cost to knowingly broadcasting something false as a fundamental truth about our business and who we are. As such, his remarks tonight will not be broadcast live here. We will monitor them and let you know about any news he releases. make.
CNN wasn't much better, airing only a small portion of President Trump's speech, but not until Trump started talking about the border.

According to the Media Research Center's website Newsbusters.org, CNN host Jake Tapper cut his speech after Trump said, “We're going to shut down the border.” Because now we are being invaded. Millions of people are infiltrating our country. I can't imagine why they think that's a good thing. ”
Tapper interrupted and said,
Donald Trump achieved a historic performance in the Iowa caucuses and declared victory. If these numbers hold, this election would be the biggest victory for a non-incumbent president in modern times. Relatively calm speech so far. But he's here now, beneath my voice. You can hear him repeating his anti-immigrant rhetoric.

Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt slammed the network, writing, “Brass.” [at] @CNN and @MSNBC won't air it…because they're not news channels. These are opinion vehicles that seek to exclude centre-right voices, thereby seriously damaging their 'news' brand. ”

However, MSNBC and CNN broadcast speeches by President Trump's rivals.
Both cable networks aired a speech by former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley.
Currently, both CNN and MSNBC are broadcasting Nikki Haley's full speech. They engage in false advertising. They are not reporting news, they are conducting state propaganda. pic.twitter.com/8KYBCWcBb8

The networks also reported the full text of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' speech.
CNN and MSNBC aired Mr. DeSantis' speech in full after refusing to publicly carry Mr. Trump's speech despite Mr. Trump's landslide victory with 51% to Mr. DeSantis' 21%. .
That's madness. CNN and MSNBC have blatantly accepted their role as propagandists. https://t.co/SzZOz0huY8 pic.twitter.com/FE2EYAe6fo

Author Michael Shellenberger mocked networks for trying to “protect vulnerable viewers” from President Trump, calling it “elite panic.” He posted on X:
Because Trump won every county in Iowa, CNN and MSNBC must protect vulnerable viewers from Trump's comments. We are witnessing panic among the elites. It is as primitive and superstitious as some women declared to be witches who could cast spells.
