MSNBC host Ari Melber locked X's social media accounts after he threatened to sue Trump campaign official Corey Lewandowski over comments he made about the shooting.
Melber went head-to-head with Lewandowski on Wednesday, but the interview devolved into a shouting match as the liberal host accused his guest of lying about things he had said.
“Fox News, the defamation lawsuit, ran a false story falsely reporting that I said something I did not say, so I make that point,” Melber exclaimed.
“So you didn't say, 'The bandage was a facade for a candidate who is obsessed with glasses?'” Lewandowski replied.
“I never said that!” Melber responded. “The quote you're quoting is false, and if you continue to repeat the false statement that I said that, you could be sued for defamation because I never said that. But I understand you've been researching the Internet, and there's a lot of false information out there.”
That night, Lewandowski I posted a video Melber's comments.
“This is a mobilization image, this is a spectacle for this candidate, who, by his own admission, is addicted to spectacle,” Melber said in the video.
Lewandowski's video has been viewed more than 1.4 million times.
Melber's account was the subject of ridicule and mockery, and by Thursday it was locked to prevent anyone from sending him messages.
