A man wanted on multiple murder counts was shot and killed by police on Friday after he lunged at officers with a knife inside a Brooklyn apartment building, sources said.
According to police sources, NYPD officers opened fire on an armed suspect inside a building on East 21st Street near Dorchester Road in Flatbush around 5:30 p.m.
When police approached the man, he was armed with a knife, officials said.
Officers tried to subdue him with a Taser, but he lunged at them, causing officers to open fire.

Sources told The Post that the suspect was wanted in connection with the murders of a man and woman whose decomposing bodies were found in a Brooklyn apartment in July.
The woman was found with stab wounds all over her body, and the decomposed body of a man was found nearby in the home she and her son shared on Ditmas Street. A knife was also found.
Officials said the suspect is also believed to be connected to another murder in Brooklyn.
