A Rhode Island transgender father, who fatally shot his ex-boyfriend and son during a high school hockey match, has shown increasing engagement with adult content on a social media platform since transitioning. This revelation comes from an examination of his social media activity.
Robert Dorgan, a father of six, committed the murders on February 16 after reportedly following multiple adult performers and frequently responding to their content on the platform. Just two days prior to the tragic events, he interacted with an adult model’s post featuring nude imagery.
In one exchange, Dorgan, who transitioned in 2020, reacted by posting an emoji representing the number 11 to a Valentine’s Day message from a person identifying as “Malloy” or “The Great Queen.”
On another occasion, in response to a naked model’s inquiry about what attracted him, Dorgan simply replied, “Hip.” It seems that since his transition, his activity related to adult content has noticeably increased, with reports indicating he responded to hundreds of such posts over the last couple of years.
Additionally, Dorgan had a background in mental health issues and domestic violence. Court documents suggest his transgender identity was a significant factor in his divorce from Rhonda, who originally cited “gender reassignment surgery” among other reasons. However, she later amended her filing to “irreconcilable differences.”
Tragically, Dorgan, who also used the name Roberta Esposito, shot and killed Rhonda and their son, Aiden, while also seriously injuring two of his former in-laws and a family friend. One of his daughters has expressed concerns, stating that their family felt specifically targeted as they spoke out against Dorgan’s actions. “This was very specific. It wasn’t a coincidence,” she told a local news outlet.
