Details are beginning to emerge about the parents of murdered Colorado teen Amanda Overstreet. Her severed head and hand were discovered in a freezer in January, more than 15 years after she was last seen alive.
Overstreet's late stepfather, Bradley Immer, had a history of run-ins with police, online court records confirmed.
Arizona authorities arrested him in 2002 on charges of drug possession, trafficking and driving under the influence. He was stopped for erratic driving, and police found methamphetamine and eight illegal guns in his car.
Immel, who died of complications from the coronavirus in 2021, entered a plea deal with the state and received probation. Eight of the nine counts against him were dismissed.
Overstreet's mother, Leanne Immer, 56, also has had previous run-ins with the law.
She lost custody of Overstreet when he was just 3 years old, and authorities cited neglect and abuse.
Leanne Eimer, who lived in Texas, was also accused of stealing from her own relatives. Daily Mail reported.
The newspaper said she allegedly misused her power of attorney to take control of her father's assets and used forged documents to collect thousands of dollars from his bank accounts. However, she was never criminally charged for the alleged conspiracy.
Police said Overstreet was last seen in 2005. Her severed hand and head were discovered earlier this year by a real estate investor who was clearing out a Grand Junction storage home previously owned by Leanne Eimer, about 340 miles west of Denver.
DNA test results returned in October confirmed that the body parts were indeed Overstreet's.
Leanne Immer allegedly told her family that her daughter had run away at a truck stop in Amarillo, Texas.
However, police said the boy was never reported missing. Investigators have not said how they believe Overstreet died.
No arrests have been made in connection with this horrific death.
Leanne Immer could not be reached for comment Saturday.
