Murphy: Trump administration focused on 'stealing from all of us'

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.), who emerged as one of his party's biggest critics of the Trump administration, said the newly elected administrative division is focused on “stealing from all of us.”

“The Trump administration stole from all of us, from the poor, from the poor, from the middle class to enrich billionaire Mar Lago Cabal, and only one thing and one thing,” Murphy said in a clip posted to society. Platform X by Daily caller on Tuesdays.

Murphy's comments touched on Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who is a leader in government efficiency and frequently on the presidential side, and technical leaders, particularly Trump.

At Trump's inauguration last month, technical leaders such as Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Google CEO Sundal Pichai, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Tiktok CEO Shaw Chew and SpaceX were notable.

Last year Musk also grew close to the president, showing up at some of his rally, strongly supporting him in his efforts to return to the White House. The tech billionaire is also deeply involved in Trump's second administration and is a senior adviser to the president.

Stoking the story of the president's potential bid in 2028, Murphy denounced the budget resolution adopted by House Republicans in the clip.

The resolution calls for the House Energy and Commerce Committee to find a $880 billion reduction in spending.

“You're talking about Medicaid's $880 billion cut. And I'm going to get it, like $880 billion, what does that mean? It's a huge number. No one understands it. Tell us what that means. So sick children die in this country. So hospitals in depressed communities in rural communities will close the door,” Murphy said.

Hill contacted the White House and the House Republican Conference for comment.
