D4vd’s Legal Representation Changes Amid Serious Charges

Singer D4vd is currently without his legal team as he faces trial for severe charges, including first-degree murder, mutilation of human remains, and sexual abuse of Celeste Rivas.

Attorneys Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski, and Regina Peter informed the judge of their inability to continue representing D4vd, though they didn’t elaborate on the reasons for this sudden change.

A public defender has now taken over the case, suggesting that D4vd may be without funds. Interestingly, it’s reported that he earned over $11 million from his contract with Interscope Records, leaving questions about how his finances have diminished.

“This morning the court granted our request to withdraw as counsel and appointed the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office, after it was determined David qualified for appointed counsel,” the attorneys shared with TMZ on Monday. “We continue to support David and his defense against these serious charges.”

They further expressed gratitude that the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office is now representing D4vd, emphasizing the capabilities of the new legal team.

D4vd, whose full name is David Anthony Burke, stands accused of murdering 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Her dismembered remains were reportedly found in the front trunk of his Tesla in September 2025.

Prosecutors allege that D4vd sexually abused Rivas Hernandez and ultimately killed her when she threatened to disclose their relationship, which they claim could have jeopardized his music career. D4vd has pleaded not guilty.

Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman mentioned to TMZ that the death penalty could still be a possibility for D4vd, but it remains uncertain whether prosecutors will seek it.

D4vd’s next court appearance is set for October 19, although it’s unclear if the change in legal representation might lead to any delays in the case.
