Musician Madi Diaz devastated after guitar she played with Harry Styles destroyed while flying Delta

Beat Pete Townshend!

Delta Air Lines is accused of “deliberately” destroying musician Martin’s acoustic guitar, which was found with cracked debris inside its hard case after the flight.

Unlike rock legend Townshend, the guitarist for The Who who destroyed more than 35 guitars in 1967 alone, 37-year-old Maddie Diaz was shocked to find her own stringed instrument suffering the same fate. Ta.

“I am devastated that @Delta damaged my 20 year old Martin guitar,” Diaz wrote in X.

“So many memories are gone. Absolutely beyond devastated. Please repost. @Delta needs to be held accountable.”

In a video accompanying the tweet, Diaz panned around the broken guitar to show the extent of the damage and recalled memories of playing the guitar, including touring with Harry Styles.

“Delta, this is unfathomable, truly devastating,” the singer said in a short video posted with detailed photos.

“This is completely unfixable. I will never play this guitar again and I am truly shocked at the way this instrument has been treated.”

“From my college dorm room to the stage with @Harry_Styles, this guitar has been with me every step of the way,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.

Diaz also had a tape recording of Styles’ song “Medicine” on his guitar so he could recall it while performing – the paper was left in shreds.

“Twenty years of memories, all the tours, records, and songs written on this guitar. It was inadvertently destroyed. I’m truly heartbroken,” Diaz added.

In the 39-second clip, Diaz pointed out that the fragile red sticker on the case appeared to have been “deliberately removed,” and X users echoed her anger.

“Literally looks like someone did this to @madidiaz’s guitar on purpose… how could this happen?” fellow singer Jamie Floyd responded.

“This is how she makes a living…and someone broke it into your watch. Please make this right.”

“It came in a solid hard case. Damage like this is never an accident…you have to try to make it so,” added another in the comments.

Delta apologized to Diaz on X for the “long wait” for a response and asked him to contact her via private message.

The airline also issued a statement. Sun “Delta apologizes to Maddie for damaging her instrument.”

“We are in contact with her team to make this right,” they added in a statement.

The newspaper reached out to both Delta and Diaz for comment.
